Smart Farm Hydroponic Tower Garden FAQ

This simple form of hydroponics solves under & over watering.   Modular stacking planters are filled with coco coir & perlite, than connected vertically through a center pole connected to an electric or solar pump which sits inside a 60 litre reservoir.

Nutrient is added to the water reservoir which is automaticaly pumped to the top layer and filtered down through each layer (instructions provided).   Because the coco coir is so porous you basically cannot over water your garden (assuming it’s getting good sun).

Plants don’t need soil to grow, they need the nutrients contained in the soil!  With hydroponics, we simply add nutrients to the water with the plant growing in an inert growing medium such as coco coir & perlite.

When nutrients are delivered straight to the root system the plant spends less time in search of nutrition, and more time producing foilage and fruit.

There are many different hydroponic methods.   Mr Stacky tower gardens use a simple drip method and coco coir making it perfect for beginner growers.   Coco coir is like soil, only way better!   See why

No.   Aeroponic towers have a hollow center where the roots are suspended in air and water is continously misted on the roots internally.

Aeroponic towers are great, but they’re very expensive (like 3 x the price!) and they are fraught with danger.   If your pump dies, your plants are dead in about 3 hours flat.  The micro drippers can clog easily and the tower is very susceptable to temperature issues.   (ie. spraying hot water on plants roots is not a good idea).  That’s why you tend to see aeroponics grown mostly indoors.

Comparitvely, the Smart Farm is simpler and more forgiving.  The coco coir retains the right amount of moisture and provides many buffers against temperature variances, hydration variances, PH, water quality & related factors.   Because it works very similar to soil, it’s more accessible for the everyday home user.   You don’t need to be an expert to get incredible results.

EC stands for Electrical Conductivty and is the measure of salt in a solution.   Because hydroponic nutrient is derived from mineral salts, it’s an accurate way to measure the exact quantity of nutrient. If you follow the recommended dose rates that come with your system, you don’t necessarily need an EC tester, however most will purchase one so they can be assured they are providing adquate nutrient levels.

The Smart Farms come with 2 power options.  Electic or solar.

The electric kits come with a 24 hour timer in 15 minute increments.   Remember, so long as you’re getting good sun, you can’t really over water the tower garden.  Falling water creates oxygen in the reservoir, which the plants love.   So configure your timer to ON for about 4 hours per day for best results.   Most will configure the timer in 30 min on / 30 min off from mid-morning to mid-afternoon, then off at night.

For the solar option, no timer is needed as the system will simply turn on when it’s sunny.

The pump comes with a 5 meter cord so you can maximize sun exposure to the panel.    The pump is strong enough to push the water above 2 meters high and as the system stands only 1.5m high, there is sufficient power remaining to circulate the water even in low light conditions therefore no backup battery is needed.

During rainy periods, the rain will keep the garden wet for you!   If your system is under-cover and won’t get rained on, you may be better off to go with electric.   (Battery back-ups are being tested now, but won’t be ready until late 2020).

The rain will dilute the nutrient levels, but this is usually not a big deal, in fact the plants love the rain.  Some customers decide to purhase a heavy duty plant trolley to wheel the garden where desired.

Algae forms when water and sunlight meet.   Don’t worry too much about a small amount of Algae, but if you want to stop it just put some pebbles or mulch on the top layer… Once the top of the layers are dark, the Algae will be reduced.

Grow anything from herbs, lettuce, strawberries & greens to full blown fruiting crops such as tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini even tubers such as potatoes, carrots and beet root!

Here’s some inspiration 🙂 :
Beet Root |  Lettuce | Spinach | Kale | Capsicum | Tomato

Cucumber Celery | Beans | Herbs | Strawberries | Carrot

Swiss Chard | Pumpkin | Bok Choi Chillies Snow Peas

Zucchini | Broccoli | Shallots

You get the picture right!   🙂   You can pretty much grow anything.   Just ensure you’re providing enough sun…

Watch the video above for a detailed guide:
1) Expand the coco and then fill each planter with coco
2) Connect the solar or electric pump
3) Slide lid over center pole & stack up the planters
4) Open drain, and flush the coco with water
5) Close the drain, and fill with 60 litres of water
6) Configure timer (electric), or put panel in the sun (solar)
7) Add nutrient to the water every 2 weeks
*Step by step instructions come with the system

The Smart Farm comes with quality hydroponic nutrient that is in 2 parts (A & B).   This nutrient is designed to grow various plants in all stages of growth.   So you don’t need to mess around with different ‘grow’ vs ‘bloom’ blends and complicated additives like some other systems.

To use, simply fill the 1.25 litre bottles that come with the system with water, shake well, then once dissolved, add it to the reservoir at a rate of 5ml nutrient per litre of water for both parts A & B.   As the reservoir is 60 litres, you therefore can add 300ml of each.  This will last 2 weeks before you need to replace it in the tank.
*Note: Less is more with this stuff as it’s powerful!   So half this dosage for seedlings

See the below video for how to mix and use the nutrients

Coco Coir is organic & made from the husk of the coconut.    Coco has exceptional water retention, oxygen holding and anti-fungal properties.  The compressed blocks expand 7 to 8 times in water and even when fully saturated, hold 22% air.   Coco has a PH range between 6 – 6.8 making it simply THE BEST hydroponic growing medium available.

Yes!  You’d be surprised what percentage of store bought produce is now grown hydroponically.

Hydroponic nutrients are made form mineral salts.  These are the same 17 nutrients & elements found in the soil you buy from a nursery, the difference is they’re in a highly available form which plants utilize much faster.

Instead of the plants roots spreading out in search of nutrition, they are provided just the right amounts directly, which means smaller root systems and faster, more robust, nutrient dense growth allowing the plant to reach it’s full enetic potential.

If you have your system in full sun and the temperature is 20 degrees celcius or more during the day, then let the pump run a good 4 hours p/day!   You may think you’re over-watering, but the coco/perlite mix retains plenty oxygen even when fully saturated.   If it’s cold or your not giving it full sun, then yes dial back the watering regime to approx 15-30 min per day.

Under low light conditions, you’ll want to add an inexpensive air pump in the reservoir to ensure the water is oxyginated as it’s flowing less.  This safeguards against issues relating to still water.

In actual fact the tower only truly needs about 2 minutes per day to hydrate fully, but you can’t really over water it (unless it’s very cold and/or very low sunlight).

No, with Mr Stacky it’s really simple!   To make it easy, we’re really just adding nutrient to the water and then watering your plants with it.  The coco coir is very ‘forgiving’ and is an excellent buffer against under or over watering.   As everything is automated, it takes all the guessing out and saves your plants from your unintentional neglect!

Perlite is mined volcanic glass that is inert and has excellent airation qualities.   It’s commonly added to soil to asssit with absorption and aeration.  While it’s not 100% necessary (ie. the coco coir does a great job on it’s on), we do provide it at an 80/20 ratio (coco / perlite) as we find this ensures optimal results.

Flushing the system every 2 weeks is a standard practice in hydroponic growing.   Over time, a build up of nutrient can increase PH and EC in the water which is detrimental to plants.  Basically, clean fresh water is clean water, so flushing a system every 2 weeks is standard.    In the case of the smart farm, once the plants are established, it’s likely they’ll actually suck up 30 to 40 litres p/week anyway, in which case you’d simply top up with water mid-way before flushing and adding clean nutrient every 2 weeks

Love our Mr Stacky! Easy setup and automated solar watering. Planted everything from seed. Hydroponic nutrients work great, tomato and basil on top tier have grown 2x faster than seeds planted in pots the same time. After 6 weeks, have already harvested kale and pak choy and replanted new seeds. Will continue experimenting with different plants. Overall very enjoyable process, would highly recommend

It's been a three years since I've purchased this unit. For those 3 years so many vegetables have bene grown in it:
    - lemongrass
    - basil
    - Tomato
    - Kang kong
    - Celery
    - Malabar Spinach
    - and so much more
I bought this unit for my mom who doesn't have the greenest thumb, and it because of its ease and simplicity Mr. Stacky has allowed her to enjoy gardening without the hassle. Would recommend.

We bought a hydroponic Mr stacky to grow our strawberries in. I can safely say we have eaten many more strawberries as they are off the ground and away from the creepy crawlers. I’m hoping it will also help us in summer as they won’t need as frequent watering!

Rang Mr Stacky before purchase as I was unsure which power option to go with due to large overhang on our balcony. Mr Stack provided great advice so I placed an order at 8:30 at night & received dispatch notice early next morning and parcel arrived day after!
Two weeks in, the seeds have all started growing & the seedlings are going gang busters!
It’s been great to be able to get back into gardening in such a small space.

Love my tower, it is such a great idea. I have a balcony and did get a few months of growing early this year. Everything grow so quickly that I got a heap of produce in such a short time. Definitely recommend for people in an apartment with limited balcony space and will be expanding for the upcoming summer period.

Extremely happy with my 2 solar gardens. Cannot believe that I just add seeds and they appear in days. Have tried to grow vegetables in containers and in the ground but have not had as much success as I do now. Both are located near our outdoor area which gives a wonderful ambience with the water sounds they make, in fact it’s a water feature that grows food.

love this thing to bits!!! I have a solar powered one, so easy to set up, and it's looking after my lettuce and spinach like a champ. I am already getting enough lettuce to use and I've only had it planted out for about a month! I am terrible for murdering my garden through forgetting to water it, this just took that bother away from me. Arrived all neatly packed up, everything except the coir stuff, which didn't arrive for about 3 weeks (thanks Australia post) so I got one at bunnings so I could set it up.

I absolutely love Mr Stacky! It was a gift for my 21st birthday, as I’d recently gotten into a bit of gardening at the time, and i have to say how amazing it is! It’s become a part of my morning routine to check on all the plants and move the water nozzles around. Its the best gift I’ve ever received. I have a mix between edible plants (salads mostly) and flowers, to give the Bees something to munch on (even though i am scared of flying insects).

As you can probably see in Photo 1 & 2, I have been a bit creative in helping some my plants to stay growing upwards, instead of into the level below. I’d have to say my greatest tip would be, if you have any of those wooden take away cutlery packets, or chop sticks, they work perfectly for propping plants up. especially if you’re wanting to point them into the sun more.

I chose mr Stacky because of the ease of use and the amount of food you can grow in such a small area.

The product is fantastic. I just wish I had more room in the back yard for more.
My tip, is to place your Mr Stacky in as much sun as you can get. Keep the fertiliser topped up and eat healthy every single day.
I walk out every day and pick lettuce, celery, and herbs and it just continues to produce.

This system is AMAZING!!! I grew everything in the tower last year from seed. I just followed Mr Stacky's instructions and had a huge and long-running harvest. No shortage of lettuce, rocket, kale, silverbeet, bok choy in our house. Good tomatoes, carrots, beets and radishes too.
We only have a small deck with lots of shadows that reduce the sunlight time. Very impressed with what Mr Stacky helped us achieve.
This year we'll be raising seeds indoors ready to plant out instead of seeds to get an even bigger and longer harvest.
It's also been cool to try growing winter crops. The broccoli got a bit out of control and we ended up with a brilliant display of yellow flowers.
    Thanks so much Mr Stackey!

I have MS and gardening (even in raised beds) has been too much for me for a couple of years, but the price of greens at the supermarket started to go up and I wanted to reduce waste. My two Mr Stacky solar hydroponic gardens have been amazing! I just put seeds in and things have grown into lush green and delicious plants. I harvest by snapping off leaves and letting the plant continue to grow, The height has allowed delicate things like butter lettuce survive frosts (and keeping them close to the house has kept the kangaroos and wallabies away from wanting a nibble. I only put the seeds in in March so haven't had a full year of seasonal produce (I am putting strawberries in this week) but have harvested bok choy, silver beet, various lettuces, unknown purple leafy veges from a seed packet called "stir fry mix". Broccoli is going well but not headed yet. Garlic chives decided that this was not for them and have steadfastly refused to grow more than an a couple of centimetres before curling up and expiring - I suspect they will do much better in summer.

I highly recommend the setups for people on the NDIS who have gardens in their goals, as they are very easy to use when you have a disability/chronic illness.

We purchased for my Father in law. It now lives with us. Purchased a solar pump after the original pump died due to not checking the water level. Much easier to check the level with the water level hose now attached. The Flat Leaf Parsley as taken over again, needs a cull. Had Zucchini's last year and they took over everything as well.

I love my hydroponic towers - I have two. I have a higher EC in one and a lower EC in the other for different herbs and veggies. I started with soil and given its success I moved on to hydroponics and haven't looked back. They are easy to manage on apartment balconies as long as you have a bucket to siphon off at water changeover time.
I have had great success with zucchini's and others that often get problems with mould as I plant them towards the front of the pot so no overhead watering. They are especially valuable now that the cost of food and veggies has risen!

This is my 4th Mr Stacky year, and I have been lucky enough to only rarely have had to buy lettuce and greens, since I purchased my second Stacky about 18 months ago.
You do have to regularly check the water level and keep up with the A's and B's but the green gold reward is well worth it.
2022 - Sydney.......rain, wind and very little winter sun......Usually I seem to grow my greens easier in the winter, this year, the Stacky trolley has been a god send as I push the things around, into shelter to avoid the worst winds, and then out again on the off chance we have a sunny winter day. My lettuce, which is usually prolific in winter, has struggled, but at least I planted some Kale and Silver beet late summer which has kept us going. I gave up buying supermarket lettuce as I end up throwing so much of it into the compost....
The seeds I have managed to germinate are so slow growing, but staying alive in Stacky, I hope they will take off once we get a bit of warmth...
I love my Stacky's, this is the least green they have looked since I started out, as I am constantly harvesting a few leaves, and the lack of sun is slowing the regrowth.
I had to include the photo my greyhound photo bombed :) He is a fan too...........
Good Luck everyone, and go Stack!!!

One tower is great to start with but definitely needs more if crops intended for own cooking. Also after finding the tower tipped over on occasional windy days, make sure to have water container not depleted as it also serves as anchoring weight.

I grow on my apartment balcony , which faces west. Which gives plenty of sun to run the pump.
Grows fast, just keep topping up the water tank.. learning to space out planting times so not all ready at same time . Less wastage

Soaring Lettuce prices? Lucky I’ve been growing my own with Mr Stacky 5 tier Smart Farm Hydroponic Tower, grown from seeds directly into the coco coir with perlite, full sun, no pesticides, under netting, with weekly top up of water reservoir and worm farm juice. After another crop, my tower will have paid itself off already!

I love micro greens and my Mr Stacky is full of them, they grow perfectly in it even all throughout Winter.
I have pea shoots, amaranth shoots, cress, endive, mesclun salad and basil prolifically developing.
I love nothing better than to go outside each morning and pick them them straight from the Stacky pods into my mouth for my first meal of the day...yep micro greens for breakfast! Can't wait to launch into growing vegetables now. Very happy with my purchase and there have been no bugs whatsoever. 2nd photo shows a haul from one harvest, that will last me a couple of weeks and I barely touched what was growing.

I absolutely adore my Mr Stacky smart tower! Everything in the tower has grown quickly from seed and is thriving (even through the freezing Canberra winter) The tower has been keeping us in fresh greens and herbs for months now and it has been so convenient to be able to harvest just the amount you need for a recipe,

The tower is perfect to maximise yields in courtyards and small spaces- especially if you add the heavy-duty trolley (also sold by mr stacky) that allows you to move the tower around easily to make the most of the sun at different times of the year.

With the price of lettuce at the moment I am a mignonette millionaire!!!!!
I have cos, spinach and some fancy fluffy type lettuce growing at the moment.
I LOVE LOVE that I don’t need to remember to water it because I am a bit of a haphazard gardener - the Mr Stacky is “Michelle” proof!
I highly recommend the trolley to make moving it easy and I start a new little batch of lettuce seeds every few weeks so they have sprouted by the time we have munched our way through the ones I have growing.
I didn’t have a green thumb before but now I have a Mr Stacky I think I have caught the bug! [pun intended]

A remarkable system, I can't recommend this system enough. It pays itself in a matter of months just from the fresh herbs alone. It takes only a few hours to get your head round the whole system, and then it's almost zero work to keep it going. The most time I spend with it is harvesting and just admiring it... often with friends!

Just 3 weeks in and my plants are growing like crazy in the garden tower. So handy to have the solar panel. It’s so heartwarming to see the veggies grow so fast and so much fun. The plus side is the water tank and recirculating system as it gets so hot here in Perth. So thumbs up for water efficiency.

Looking forward to getting another one further down the track.

Thanks also for replacing the cracked solar panel that was damaged on transit.

Purchased the solar Mr Stacky system. Once you get it set up, the system is very easy to take care of. Now that we’ve had it up and running for over a month and half we can really see how awesome they are. Don’t need to give over huge amounts of garden space in order to grow a nice amount of vegetables. We followed the instructions and the videos and we are really happy with the results. So happy we now plan on buying more and have recommended to friends who want a good yield without too much time involvement. Awesome product.

I love the Vertical Garden. I bought the Solar panel pump system and it has been running really well. I tend to overwater everything in pots so the fact that I can just leave this to auto water without normally drowning them is great. I have even been eating fresh lettuce leaves straight off the plant. I'm getting used to the best location to place it as I have to keep it on the balcony so it doesn't get sun all day, but I think the plants are adjusting. I can go away and not be worried that they will dry out and wilt.

The product works like a charm, your provided everything you need to succeed. All that's need on your part is to follow the instructions.
Recommend to watch the setup videos whilst reading the instructions, helped visualize what needed to be done, particularly capping the pipe.
    Also suggest the following:
-black cover for the water gauge to reduce the likelihood of algae
-hydrogen peroxide mixed in a couple days prior to flushing
Highly recommend the cal mag if growing greener veg mixed in with higher EC veg.
Will definitely be buying more in the future to come.
All in all a good friendly introduction into hydroponics.

This is my granddaughter with our first Mr Stacky hydroponic tower completely planted with a variety of strawberry plants that should give us fresh strawberries from late spring well into autumn. I must say once it was assembled and planted it is the most attention free growing solution I have ever encountered. I check it once a week to top up the water and add nutrients on the first day of the month. Living in Victoria and being in and out of lockdown, I had to mail order the plants and they were very stressed when I unpacked them. They recovered beautifully once planted and as you can see they are thriving.

I have been enjoying my Tower Garden since February 2021, trying a variety of plants to determine what works best for me.

Lettuce – Mini Cos, Iceberg, Red & Green Oak Leaf grows the best and so fresh and crunchy. Other good results – Spring Onions, Chives, Red Sorrel, Coriander.
Tried Tomatoes but it just grew to big with not much fruit.
Also tried Baby Spinach, Sweet Basil & Rocket but the leaves all turn yellow, and Beetroot & Carrots with no success.
Overall I am very happy with Mr Stacky, just so easy to maintain, and we now have a constant supply of fresh veggies.
Question I have the the solar panel on the roof with the pump going 9-10 hours on a fine day, the planters are always very wet, could this be the problem with the Basil, Spinach & Rocket.

I originally purchased Mr Stacky to get my fill of fresh lettuce. I was amazed by my success! I haven’t bought lettuce since. So a year later I purchased a second Solar Stacky, and have mastered winter greens, radishes and beetroot.

I struggle with Strawberries, but will have another go this year!! Any tips are welcome.

All in all I can’t get enough Stacky’s and I’m getting quicker at the refill process which seemed a bit hard at first. I am also open to tips on how to control the flow on my drip heads, I guess it depends on how much sun is hitting the panel, but sometimes it looks way too fast? But the growth still happens so all good I guess.

I will look to add a few flowers this time to attract the bees who always seem interested.

    Keep on Stacking, its addictive…….

Mr Stacky was recommended to me by my work colleague who had a lot of success growing produce. I never expected Mr Stacky to grow spinach so large and in so little time! I also grew marigolds to help attract bees for pollination and remove nasty insect and bugs from my veggies while they were growing. My marigolds grew four times the usual size, amazing. Mr Stacky set up is so versatile, my carrots were so tasty and delicious – I can’t wait to plant more produce and see how they turn out!

Thank you Mr Stacky, for showing me how much joy gardening and planting can be and most of all getting me outside while during lockdown. It has definitely changed up my routine!

This is the best space saving hydro garden you can get. And best of all it can move with you so if you are a renter as I am, you can just pack it all up and take it to the next place. No garden left behind and no yard to restore yet you can still grow your own vegies. I got the solar panel pack as I currently live off grid and the panel is more than enough to run the supplied pump. This is my first stacking garden but it will not be my last. The space saving from traditional hydroponics is fantastic! Thanks Mr Stacky!

Live my solar Mr Stacky. It went together so well and is so low maintenance. I have strawberries growing and they are growing so well and quickly.
I’m purchasing 2 more to use in my glasshouse for lettuce and greens. A great way of utilising the space in there and easy to water without mess.

It’s working, even with high winds & short times of full sun over the winter. Solar is a bit more difficult to get thru day but a good dash in the morning has been ok for too greens.Luv the little effort required.Be great to have a second to get sequential crops.

I’ve been growing veggies for about 15 years which is a challenge in our harsh Queensland summers. I decided to try Mr Stacky so I could grow easy to access herbs and lettuce all year round on my deck. I have since discovered I can grow so much more! I’ve just harvested my crop (second photo) and have planted seeds; I am excited to see how they go.

Please see the photo. I am experimenting with the amount of sun. We live in Perth, WA and I am concerned the sun will scorch the lettuce in summer. So far so good, but it is under an eave. I am turning it to see how the direct vs indirect light affects the plants.

Can you please send an electronic copy of the set up instructions/and garden instructions. I have lost mine.

If this works…we’re going to set up three more. I love the lack of critters and my lettuce leaves are PERFECT.

    Love your work Mr. Stacky.

My seedlings settled well and started to grow immediately. The pests have stayed away. Not only that, when the solar panel is collecting the sun’s energy I have the added bonus of water sounds to soothe me as I snooze on my verandah in the spring warmth. My friends are looking forward to seeing it when we in Victoria are allowed visitors again.

We were so pleased with our original Mr Stacky, bounds of tomatoes and greens, that we have just set up Mr Stacky No 2, we went solar this time, and no going back I think, we can put anywhere and winter sun is providing more than enough pump! We have never eaten so much ans so fresh lettace.
Just starting on spring plantings and strawberries, can't wait for the harvest.
Thanks Mr Stacky so much more produce than in the garden:)

Can't wait to see how it goes in spring. I have grown vegetables before in perlite but find the Cori much better and much cheaper than perlite. Also found seeds germinate very quick in the Cori.

We are very happy with our Smart Farm purchase. Having no experience with hydroponics it's a great system to start with. We live in Perth and the hot dry summers take their toll on our vege garden. We though we would try the Smart farm for all the green leafy veges and herbs.
So far it is performing well and happily growing in 40 degrees C. We would recommend the Smart Farm to family and friends and will probably buy another once we gain some more experience. The only flaw is the drainage at the bottom. Would prefer a tap to make it easier.

Superfast delivery and was easy to put together. Positive feedback would be some clarity on only using one block of the coir as I end up with alot left over. Tip - If the emitters become blocked. Take the cap off, place a glass over it, run pump for a few seconds, replace cap carefully. This flushed out the blockage.

Now impatient for the plants to grow!

Holy crap. 5 stars from me. After 3 weeks, everything booming. I have it in full sun and turning it a quarter turn every couple of days to get the back parts in sun. I halved the nutrient level, only putting 150ml of Part A & Part B in the reservoir for first 2 weeks, than increased it to 200ml of each after 2 weeks. Still have heaps of nutrient left and it's totally working... Very excited about it. Will send an update in 2 weeks time!

I had some trouble setting up as the coupling didn't fit through the center hole. So just added it after the 2nd stack and it worked fine. It stands much larger than I expected. Great vertical gardening system for your dinner salads and herbs

After a lot of research, we decided on the Smart Farm for our vertical gardening solution because of the packaged system with all of the components and the price advantage over the other options. We wanted a garden we could install on our back deck to grow all of the lettuce, tomatoes, herbs and spices we regularly use for dinner. The large planter areas on this model make it easy to plant 1-3 plants per section and with 20 sections we still had room for some extras like strawberries. Assembly was super easy and the pump, timer and drip system work flawlessly. We only planted our plants yesterday so no word on the yield yet but it seems like this is exactly what we wanted. The kit includes the hydroponic nutrients to fill the large reservoir about 7 times. The only other things we purchased to get our garden growing was plants, a pH monitor and some pH down solution.

This is worth the money. Not the cheapest option around, but good value actually and looks great! Installation was very straight forward and had some extra coco left over, I put in the garden. The nutrient that comes with the system is very good. The EC was 2.9 at the recommended dose! Will cut the measurement in half as 1.5 is adequate. Only drawback is the drainage system. The 13mm outlet is the right size for garden hose so should just come with the right connectors! Anyway, I purchased it from bunnings for $5 so not a big deal, but that's the only reason I haven't given it 5 star! I've got it in full sun, and so far it's seriously going off! Very happy with it.
    Thanks, Jamie

I'm experienced with hydroponics so thought this system may be too beginner'ish at first but was tempted to see how the coco/perlite works after doing some research. After 1 month using the system, I'm impressed. Uses much less water than flood & drain or NFT, and I don't have to worry about PH as much. The results speak for them self. Very impressive. I've recommended this system to others.

I have a EC pen and the nutrient provided with the system was stronger than expected. At the recommended dose rate, the EC was 3.0! This is too high! I contacted Mr Stacky and they advised it's just a strong batch, normal EC at dose rate is between 1.5-2.0.

Set up was quick and very straight forward. I really like how it looks. The top levels seem to grow better than the bottom. I guess it's just more sunlight getting in. I picked up a simple flow valve and replaced this with the drainage tube provided. That's only reason why it I didn't give it 5 stars. Adrian

Great vertical garden for indoors. This is a great hydroponic tower garden for the price. It comes with everything you need (Even a little fertilizer sample). It is ideal for lettuce and leafy greens and is easy to set up. The only reason this didn't get 5-stars is the reservoir will fill up if you have it outside and it rains. I would think a plastic cover would be an easy fix to be able to use this indoors and out. I am really happy with this purchase.

Thanks Mr Stacky! :-) I set up the system over 1 month ago and have capsicum, spinach, lettuce and herbs growing well. I was worried it was in full sun but wow, can't believe how well it's all growing... I've replaced the water twice now and put fresh nutrient. We're on a 3rd floor balcony so connected the drainage plug to the garden hose by purchasing a connector value. If it had this connector included, I'd give it 5 start for sure! Love it!

Started the Stacky about four weeks ago on NSW, Central Coast. Results are quite impressive. Uses a third of the water than other flood and drain system, and growth rates are superior. Extended the duration of watering due to very hot days and, strong, hot winds. Increased the mix a tad and off it went.Space efficient for its courtyard location. Smart way to increase amount and, type of plants grown when space is at a premium. Top notch.
